Technical writing
My primary professional language is English, while I'm also fluent in Ukrainian, Russian and to some extent in Italian.
Starting from my PhD in 2012, I've been practicing my writing and speaking to express all kinds of technical messages:
- description of complex physics phenomena and experimental setups in academic papers and conference talks;
- documentation of tools and algorithms that are used by other colleagues;
- pitch presentations for grant applications and startup projects;
- posts and articles for popular-science journals and blogs.
Besides words, I create visualisations, whenever a diagram, a plot, a sketch or a photo make the message easier to comprehend. And sometimes, when a visualisation alone is not enough, I create interactive interfaces that let the reader discover all the intricacies by themselves.
In my writing I focus on the careful choice of words to make the message as clear as possible and as concise as possible, with attention to details in the layout and formatting.
